CHARACTER
Name: Satoshi Aramiya
Canon: Apple
Age: 17
Timeline:end of canon
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality: Satoshi is a bit of an oddball. He prefers to keep to himself, and he isn't exactly the most open person. Years of being neglected, and then hunted down, have made him more than a little wary about really opening up to anyone.

That said, Satoshi is obnoxiously cheerful and laid back. While he is not one to open up and talk about his life story, he isn't rude to people either. He would rather kill someone with kindness than chase them away. So, when someone asks about his past, or any question he really doesn't want to answer, Satoshi just cheerfully dodges around the question entirely. He would rather distract someone with something fun than yell at them or get angry.

His laid back attitude carries over to other parts of his life, too. He doesn't tend to worry about anything, as he figures everything will somehow work out in the end. And while he doesn't shy away from hard work, he would rather find a much easier way to do the work than through physical labor or hardship. He is very much about the idea of 'work smarter, not harder.'

But for as smart as he can be at times, Satoshi really is book-dumb. He never went to school for any extended period of time, so he doesn't know much beyond what he has personally experienced. He is willing to learn what he does not know, however. In canon, he is a dutiful student when someone teaches him about the stock market. He is well aware of his ignorance when it comes to some topics, so if someone is willing to teach him about it, he is willing to learn.

This is because Satoshi is a naturally curious person. He does not typically set out to go discover something new, but if something new presents itself to him, he does not shy away from it. He will study it and try to learn more about it, and maybe even make friends with it if he can. He mostly only investigates something that piques his curiosity, and he has almost no personal filter when it comes to things he should say and do. About the only time he holds back on his curiosity is when it invades someone else's privacy or personal space, and in that case he will simply ask about it instead of looking for himself.

At the same time, though, he does have a set way he lives, and he gets annoyed when someone disrupts it. He likes to live frugally, building what he needs instead of buying new things. He also likes to cook his own food, and to catch or grow the ingredients he needs. That is his one big policy: take care of your own things. So, while he is willing to learn, he still has his own way of doing things, and he might not use knowledge if it doesn't match up with how he does things.

Satoshi can also be socially dumb at times too. He understands the basics of conversation: be polite, know when to talk and when to listen, and always try to help someone. However, the finer details of social interaction are lost on him. He may completely miss what someone is hinting at if they don't directly say it, mostly because he just doesn't have a lot of practice at talking with people. He does cheat at times and uses his sixth sense abilities to sense how a person is feeling, but that doesn't always help. He may be able to tell that someone is upset about something, but he won't pick up on why they are upset unless it is really, really obvious.

But despite all his faults, Satoshi has nothing but the best intentions. He generally loves the Earth, as well as the people who live on it, and he feels no ill will towards them. He may get annoyed at times, and there are specific people who he absolutely does not like, but in general he is an agreeable person who tries his best to get along with everyone. He would much rather be on friendly terms than make a bunch of enemies, though there are limits to how far he will go to make friends with people. For example, he refused to surrender himself to the military in canon, though he felt no malice towards the soldiers who were trying to capture him.

That said, it is best not to set Satoshi off. He has a very long patience, but if you really piss him off, he can be downright scary. Hurting his friends is a very big no-no, as is trying to force him to hurt other people.

Ultimately, Satoshi lives life as if it were one big game. He really is a kid at heart, and he takes every day as it comes, living in the moment. He spends every day doing what he wants, and he wouldn't dream of living any other way.

Background: Satoshi's canon is literally 50 pages long. If you want to read it, you can read it here. The translation isn't the best, but it works. I'll still summarize his background for you, though.

The first thing you need to understand is that the Earth is sentient. It is aware of everything that happens on its surface, and it is also aware of any threats to itself. To prevent those threats from destroying the world, it created a new, advanced life form: Apple. Apples are born from the Earth itself, and they are given special powers to overcome any obstacle. Their entire purpose is to protect the Earth, and they are well-prepared for that purpose.

It is never said how many Apples are in the world, but there is at least one: Satoshi. For most of his life, he was left alone. He has no parents, and he was stuck living in a military facility, so he didn't exactly have anyone caring for him. But about four years before the start of canon, he was found by a brilliant scientist, who studied him for two years and then wrote a report about Apples.

Before that study was published, nobody really knew what an Apple was. But as soon as it was published, everyone was suddenly very interested in Apples, and specifically in Satoshi. See, all of the countries of the world saw Satoshi as a weapon. Whoever controlled an Apple would control the world. So, the different world powers suddenly started gunning for him, trying to capture him and take him for themselves.

Satoshi was having none of that, though. He escaped from the military facility, and he ran to live in a junkyard in the countryside, on the outskirts of Tokyo. He lived there by himself for two years, slowly building a house and making a life for himself. Of course, while he lived there he still had to fend off any military groups that came to capture him, but in the time up until canon started he had no problems with that.

Abilities: Satoshi was created by the Earth to protect the Earth from any calamities that may come its way. Because of this, he has quite a few powers, since the Earth basically showered him with special abilities to make him strong enough to be the hero everyone needs. It is possible that he has powers beyond what's listed below, but for the purposes of apping him into Ruby City, I'm only going to have him have powers he was specifically shown using in canon. Also, unless specified, all of the powers listed require conscious effort on his part to use. If he is not specifically using that power, then it won't suddenly turn on.

Levitation: He can levitate himself off the ground and fly around. He can also use this to land safely is he falls from somewhere.

Telekinesis: He can lift objects with his mind.

Transformation: He can turn into any living thing, even a single-cell organism. If he is knocked out, he automatically turns back into his human form.

Fast healing: He can heal quickly, even from wounds that would kill a normal person. This is the one exception to the 'conscious effort' rule, as he was shown to heal his body even when he was knocked out.

Healing others: He can heal wounds other people have, even if those wounds are normally fatal.

Sixth Sense: He can sense when people are around him, and can even tell who a person is just by their 'feeling.' He can also feel a person's general mood using this power too. He specifically has to go looking for people with this power to find them, though, so people can still sneak up on him if he isn't looking for them.

Future sight: He can see the future in his dreams, but the only future he sees is what will destroy the world. This is so he knows what he has to do to save the world.

Plant growth: He can make plants grow faster, and when he over-exerts himself little plants start growing on his skin too.

All of these do have limitations. Excluding the Sixth Sense and Future sight, all of his powers can only work if the target is within eyesight. Also, Satoshi only has a limited amount of energy, and when he runs out he will pass out and sleep until his energy is recharged.

Besides his special Earth-powers, Satoshi has some mundane skills too. He is a really good cook, and he is skilled at building useful things out of junk. He built a whole house out of trash from a junkyard, so he has a lot of practice with building. The cook skills come from taking care of himself for several years. When you have to fend for yourself, you tend to get pretty good at the basics.

First Person: [Satoshi, not being the most tech-savvy person, has to mess around with the watch for a while before he can get it to work. This mostly involves pushing buttons and seeing what happens, so it is very likely that there are at least three or four other, brief video posts of his face on the network before he finally gets it right.]

So this thing is like one of those video-phones from the tv, huh? That's pretty cool! And I guess I should say 'thanks' to whoever left one with me, right? I'm guessing it was meant as a present, since it was right there and all. But if I'm wrong, and someone really did leave their watch-thing on the train, just come find me, okay? I'm over by the train station right now.

[Nevermind that nobody could contact him, let alone see his post, if they lost their phone. LOGIC.]

Anyway, I'm Satoshi, and I'm new here. Though I'm not really sure where 'here' is, Grimm didn't tell me the details about where we were going. Speaking of which, if anyone has seen a little red-headed guy, about this tall-

[He holds his free hand up at about mid-chest-height on himself.]

-can you let me know? He wasn't on the train when I woke up, so I think he wandered off somewhere.

Third Person: Satoshi hummed happily to himself as he dropped the fishing line into the water. The sun was almost to the top of the sky already, which meant he would have to start lunch soon. He already had a dish in mind, too: fried fish with steamed rice and vegetables sounded delicious. Of course, he had to actually catch his lunch before he could cook it, hence the fishing pole. He knew he couldn't rush this part, though. Fishing took time, and it was worth it to wait anyway.

He had something to keep himself occupied while he waited for a fish to bite, too. For the last two hours, Satoshi had been tracking the progress of someone sneaking around the area. It had started back at the junkyard, while Satoshi was finishing up his morning chores, and whoever it was had followed him all the way down to the river. Of course, Satoshi already knew why this person was following him: every day the military made some attempt to capture him, and there hadn't been any obvious moves against him that day, so it wasn't too difficult to put two and two together.

But he let it go, for now. Whoever it was sneaking around, they hadn't made any moves against him yet. There wasn't really much of a point in doing anything until the person made their presence known.

They were really trying to be sneaky, Satoshi noticed as he sat on the edge of the river, watching his bobber float downstream. They were keeping their distance, well behind Satoshi himself, probably observing him. It was almost funny, how they thought they were being so sneaky. Someone should have warned that person that it was really difficult to sneak up on someone who could sense people's presences.

Finally, there was a bite on Satoshi's fishing line. He tugged on it, then started to reel in the line. Before too long, the rather large fish was out of the water, flopping around on the land. Satoshi pulled it up by the fishing line, holding it up so he could admire it. "Perfect," he said happily, "This'll be more than enough for lunch!"

It was at that time, when Satoshi's guard was momentarily down, that the person made their move. A man dressed entirely in a dark military uniform jumped out from behind a large rock, and he pointed a gun at Satoshi. "Don't move," the man said in an authoritative voice, "I have been instructed to capture you and turn you in. I would rather not have to harm you, so please come quietly."

Oh, so they were taking the direct approach, Satoshi realized. They had never just come out and ordered him to go with them before, they had always tried with nets and knockout gas and such. At least they were being a bit nicer about it. They didn't even send any tanks this time, that was a huge improvement for them.

Of course, Satoshi still wasn't going to go with this man, but if they were going to be nice about it then he could be nice in return. "Hungry?"

That made the man pause for a second, confused. "…what?"

"I said, are you hungry," Satoshi explained, and he held up his fish to indicate to it, "I'm about to make some lunch, and if you want you can join me-"

"Don't mess around," the man shouted suddenly, "I'm being serious here!"

The shouting made Satoshi frown. Weren't they trying to be nice here? "I am being serious, it's lunch time right now."

Suddenly the man fired his gun, severing the fishing line just below Satoshi's hand and sending the fish falling to the river. Satoshi would have been impressed, if such shooting skill hadn't just cost him his lunch.

Satoshi flung the pole to the ground dramatically and dove for his fish, trying to catch it before it hit the water. But it was no use, the fish broke the surface and swam away before Satoshi could stop it. "NOOOOOOOO! My lunch!"

The man wasn't going to have any of Satoshi's dramatics, though. He simply leveled the gun at Satoshi and said, "Now turn around, and come with me."

However, Satoshi wasn't even listening to the man's words. He had bigger things to worry about than one man trying to capture him. So he dove into the river, intent on swimming after the fish and catching it. He didn't even bother listening to the man's shouts as he swam away. After being so cruel as to make him lose his fish, there was no way that man was going to be invited to lunch!
